Frequently asked questions

The most common questions about how getile audio works, how to connect the Raspberry, and what makes it different.

What is getile audio?

getile audio is the audio operating system that turns a Raspberry Pi into the heart of your Hi-Fi setup: bit-perfect playback, every source in a single interface, no PC left running and nothing to configure by hand.

How do I connect the Raspberry with getile audio installed?

Flash the gtCore image onto the SD card, insert it into the Raspberry, connect your USB DAC and power it on. On first boot, reach the device from your browser at hostname.local and a short wizard walks you through setup. The full step-by-step is in the Guides section below.

Do I need a subscription?

No. getile audio is a one-time purchase and stays yours forever: no monthly or annual fee to keep listening.

What does "bit-perfect" mean?

The audio stream reaches your DAC exactly as it was mastered, with no resampling, conversion or intermediate processing that could alter its quality: what you hear is exactly the original file.

How does the free trial work?

Create a free account, download the gtCore image, and you get 30 days of full trial, no credit card required. When it ends, you can pick the plan that suits you best.

What hardware do I need to get started?

A compatible Raspberry Pi, a microSD card and a USB DAC (or a system with a USB/digital input). Nothing else: no dedicated PC, no complex network setup.

What is gtLine?

gtLine is getile audio's line of physical products for anyone who wants a ready-to-use, already configured device, without having to assemble one from a generic Raspberry Pi.

How do I activate my license?

The license is assigned automatically to the device the first time it connects with your account. You can purchase or upgrade at any time from your account area.

Where can I find my devices and licenses?

Everything is visible in your account area, under the Devices and Licenses tabs: status, version, issue date and expiration for every active license.

How do I contact support?

From your account area, Support tab, you can open a request: you'll get a reply by email and can follow the conversation right there, adding details whenever needed.
